This no-bake dessert lets kids help with any patriotic celebration preparation.
Makes 18-24 strawberries
Prep time: 10 minutes • Cook time: 15 minutes
1 (12-ounce) bag white chocolate chips
1 Tablespoon shortening or butter
½ cup blue-colored sugar or sprinkles
Wash strawberries and pat dry. Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
safe bowl and microwave on medium power for 1 minute. Stir, and then proof bowl over a pan of simmering water, stirring until melted.
Dip each strawberry in the white chocolate, about 2⁄3of the way up, leaving some red show- ing. Lift out and allow excess to drip for 2 seconds before immediately dipping into colored sugar 1⁄3 of the way up the strawberry. Set on prepared pan to cool.
